Kurt Holdeman, a securities broker with Mesa Data Services Inc., was sentenced to five years in prison on four counts of securities fraud.Holdeman was indicted June 27, 2005, on 13 counts of securities fraud by a Jackson County grand jury. The indictment alleged that he defrauded several Missouri and Kansas residents, who lost more than $94,000 combined. Court documents said Holdeman committed fraud by selling stock to the residents without informing them of seven previous lawsuits filed against him and his Kansas City-based company in Jackson County.Holdeman pleaded guilty on May 5, and Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Kelly Moorhouse sentenced him on Aug. 29.The case was prosecuted by the Missouri secretary of state’s Securities Division and Jackson County Prosecutor Jim Kanatzar.“This conviction should serve as an example to any fraudster who is considering stealing money from Missourians,” Secretary of State Robin Carnahan said in a written statement
