Luis Uribe, a mortgage broker, was accused of submitting loans under false pretenses.<br />According to the prosecution, Uribe fraudulently disbursed money to Bay General for what appeared to be contracting services.<br />But, officials say, Uribe used Bay General to inflate the value of the properties.<br />Also, as part of the scheme, Uribe and others stole victims identities and took out mortgages, buying houses in their names.<br />Uribe and others are accused of causing lenders to fund more than 32 loans.<br />U.S. District Judge sentenced Luis Uribe to eight and a half years, in jail, for fraud and identity theft.
