Orlando Carter, former owner and president of the now-defunct Dynus Corp., was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Wednesday in a scandal that ensnared Butler County’s former auditor and others.
U.S. District Court Judge Sandra Beckwith handed down the sentence, and also ordered Carter to pay almost $5 million in restitution. That includes Fifth Third Bank – which said it had lost $4.3 million from a fraudulent loan it gave Dynus.
Carter, 44, who pleaded innocent and claimed he didn’t know about the loan, has filed to appeal the verdict
