Accused businessman freed from jail on bail - Sacramento Business, Housing Market News | Sacramento Bee: "Abe Alizadeh, the bankrupt Roseville developer charged in a tax-theft case, has been bailed out of jail.
The 52-year-old entrepreneur was released Wednesday, two weeks after he was booked into the Placer County jail.
His lawyer, Malcolm Segal, said the $1 million bail was met when a group of supporters pledged the equity in their homes and businesses. 'It was an extraordinary showing of community support,' he said.
Alizadeh is an Iranian immigrant who got his start making tacos at a Jack in the Box restaurant. He eventually owned 71 Jack in the Box franchises and numerous office buildings, mostly in greater Sacramento."
